08.11.2023 – Dussmann Group Executive Board member Jörg Braesecke, who has been with the company for 20 years and has been responsible for the Care & Kids division since 2007, will leave the company at the end of the year.

Catherine von Fürstenberg-Dussmann, Chairwoman of the Dussmann Group Board of Trustees, said that the company owed Jörg Braesecke a great debt of gratitude. Under his leadership, the Dussmann Group and the Kursana brand had become a leading provider of nursing and care for the elderly people. The company respects his wish to leave after so many years and wishes Jörg Braesecke all the best.

Jörg Braesecke said that after a very long period of continuous responsibility for the development of the Care & Kids division and shared responsibility for the entire Dussmann Group, he wanted to make his last years of work more flexible, and now was the right time for such a change. Kursana has mastered the major challenges posed by the corona pandemic and the new legislation, especially for care facilities for the elderly people, well and in many areas in an exemplary manner. He is very grateful to all his colleagues and employees for this. Now it is important to overcome the new challenges with new impetus and innovations.

Braesecke had been managing director of Kursana since 2003. He has been a member of the Dussmann Group Executive Board since 2007, where he was responsible for the Care & Kids division.

Götz Leschonsky takes over management of Care & Kids until further notice

Until further notice, Goetz Leschonsky, who is currently responsible for the operational business at Kursana as Managing Director, will take over Braesecke's duties as Chairman of the Management Board of Kursana on January 1, 2024. Leschonsky has been Managing Director of Kursana since 2015 and knows the business inside out. In this role, he will report to Dieter Royal, member of the Executive Board and CFO of the Dussmann Group. Leschonsky will be supported in his role by Kursana's Commercial Managing Director Ulf Bieschke.

At Kursana, founded in 1985 by Peter Dussmann, around 6,800 employees care for and look after around 13,400 senior citizens in 100 facilities throughout Germany.
