Young Talents
We make the difference
with perspective & community
Training at the Dussmann Group headquarters offers you a modern and supportive start to your career. Whether you choose traditional training or a dual study program, our junior staff work in various departments, take on their own projects, and actively shape their own development. The training and study program is practical and varied. Group projects and teamwork promote cohesion among trainees, while regular workshops cover topics such as feedback culture, identifying strengths, and planning for the future. We train BA students in finance and HR to become future managers and specialists.
As an employer, we place great importance on future orientation and the targeted promotion of trainees. Even before training begins, a close community develops among the trainees, characterized by mutual support—even across different age groups.
What makes our training program special?
The training program is characterized by its versatility and individualized approach. Trainees rotate through various departments, with the work schedule flexibly adapted to personal interests:
- Payroll
- Purchasing
- Recruiting
- Financial accounting
- Communication
- Building cleaning
- Sales
What makes our dual study program special?
We offer dual study programs at HWR in finance and human resources. Switching between theory and practice is exciting but also very challenging. We are committed to ensuring that BA students acquire expertise and strategic insights, as we want to train the next generation of managers and specialists.
The B.A. students are also part of our Young Talents program and participate in all events, provided that these are compatible with their lecture schedules.
„Working life is like a marathon—it's not the person who sprints at the start who wins, but the person who paces themselves sensibly. That's why I teach my trainees to work healthily and be #proactive.“
Top 3 frequently asked questions
A modern working environment and a relaxed, open atmosphere create ideal conditions for productive work. Mobile working and regular team events such as summer and Christmas parties make us an attractive employer. Joint social activities, innovative projects, and events such as after-work quizzes, social days, or the company run provide opportunities for exchange and fun outside of everyday working life. A particular highlight is the SharePoint platform developed by trainees “by trainees for trainees,” which serves as a central knowledge platform—with helpful tips, learning content, and experience reports.
We place great importance on personal and professional development. At our Dussmann Campus in Zeuthen, we offer a wide range of training opportunities and individually tailored courses—for example, on Excel, presentation techniques, or dealing with stage fright.
A culture of feedback with open communication and regular development meetings supports continuous professional development.
What makes the training and dual study program special is the family atmosphere that arises from small groups and close bonds. The opportunity to contribute your own ideas and actively participate in shaping the program is particularly appreciated. The areas of application during the training are wide-ranging, and the departmental plan is tailored to your individual interests. Our dual students have the opportunity to delve deeply into their fields and acquire both theoretical and practical expertise. It is also worth noting that trainees actively participate in interviews with potential trainees and thus have a say in who becomes part of the team. The retention rate of almost 100% speaks for itself.
